What if you knew what it would take?


You could easily understand how if you looked at some simple FACTS:

  • #1 We consume 15 to 20 Terawatts of energy a year (that is 1
    trillion watts of perpetual energy)
  • #2 Most of our energy today is from "fossil fuels" that are at or
    near capacity and starting to "peak".
  • #3 In order to grow (think China, India, Brazil, or the 2 Billion
    that don't even have power), then we need to triple that number.
  • #4 We have advanced technology so that "renewable" energy is
    not only feasible, but it IS being implemented.
  • #5 The Chinese built the great wall and Egyptians built the
    pyramids many many years ago.  We can send men to the moon
    and spaceships to Mars.  We can do things when great leaders
    focus on it.
Let's do the math:

You might think that is a large number, or you might think it is small... But let's look
at some similar amounts of money spent already and put it into some context.
Ok say we can get the money, but is there
enough renewable power potential?


One day of sun... JUST ONE DAY... Provides enough solar power to cover our current
power needs for 27 YEARS.

Think about that for one second...

Now add in the power of wind, power of the ocean waves, fuelcells made from water,
hydroelectricity from Dams, and heat generated from the earth's core.  In addition, if
we learned how to "re-use" our current waste and "re-generate" fertilizers, waste
products, etc... The we can truly make our world poverty free and pollution free
ONE DAY OF SUN

equals 27x our current use


Can you simply imagine?
  • Current US government debt
  • Current World Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
How can each person help?


Well, if you think about it there are many ways.  
Understanding the issue is definitely step 1

Once you've done that, then here are some ways...

  • You can tell others

  • You can donate time to develop either poverty issue
    orgs or environmental issue orgs

  • You can donate money to causes that share your beliefs

  • You can do the things like search, shop, or click that
    you normally do, but do it through sites that "give
    back" to a cause that you support.

  • You can organize your friends into groups to focus on
    the issues and have meetings

  • You can use the online networks like facebook,
    myspace, linked in, friendster, utube, etc to gather
    people and distribute the message.

  • You can create things: songs, logos, programs, poems,
    blogs, even for-profit business and support the
    creation of more renewable power.
We can do it... It takes effort...
One person at a time!


Ending world poverty and making our world pollution free is going to
happen.  The speed it happens will depend on the speed of effort.  The more
people that understand both what the issues are and how to do something to
help, the quicker we can get there.

But make NO MISTAKE, we will get to 50 Terawatts, we will end poverty,
and we will have a clean environment.
